Happy went in for the surgery to put in the shunt at 8:30 this morning. He has been back in his room now for a couple of hours and everything is good. The surgery was successful. He should be able to follow commands and be just as awake as before once he recovers in the next few hours.
We talked to a doctor from Legacy Emanuel hospital and he thinks Happy will probably transfer Tuesday or Wednesday to the pediatric rehab area. The doctor said that his in-patient treatment would be 6 - 8 weeks approximately.
